QUEEN AFUA

Queen Afua, born Helen Robinson, is a renowned holistic health practitioner, wellness coach, and an accomplished author, who has been a trailblazer in the green foods movement for over four decades. Queen Afua has dedicated her life to fighting diseases by teaching people how to understand and utilize the power of food, self-care, and holistic healthy choices as an empowering lifestyle. She has inspired more than a million women, men, and children throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe with her workshops, books, products, and presentations. As the founder of the Sacred Woman Rites of Passage Program and the CEO of the Queen Afua Wellness Institute, Queen Afua has led countless individuals on a journey of spiritual and physical healing. Her teachings are grounded in ancient Egyptian temple teachings and focus on the power of meditation, affirmations, and rituals. Through these practices, she teaches individuals how to love and rejoice in their bodies, spiritualize their words and actions, and create harmonious spaces in which to live and work.

RAMSAY TAUM

Ramsay Taum is a Hawaiian Elder, Speaker, and Cultural Advisor. Mentored and trained by respected kūpuna (elders), Ramsay is a practitioner and instructor of several Native Hawaiian practices: Hoʻoponopono (stress release and mediation), Lomi Haha (body alignment), and Kaihewalu Lua (Hawaiian combat/battle art).

Ramsay Taum is also a recognized cultural resource, sought-after keynote speaker, lecturer, trainer, and facilitator. He is especially effective working with Hawai‘i’s travel, leisure, and retail industry where he integrates native Hawaiian cultural values and principles into contemporary business.

He is the founder and president of the Hawai'i-based Life Enhancement Institute (LEI) of the Pacific LLC, Director of the Pacific Islands Leadership Institute (PILI) at Hawaii Pacific University, and Cultural Sustainability Planner at PBR Hawaii & Associates.

REV. DR. DEVAA HALEY MITCHELL

Rev. Dr. Davaa is a transformational leader who supports people to reconnect with their spiritual depths, unleash their leadership gifts, and step into their full potential. Devaa is the Co-Founder of the Shift Network, where she helped launch the company and build its culture, contributed to the design and structure of many core offerings, and set-up Shift’s social change initiatives and philanthropic activities. Devaa also works as a Leadership Trainer and Coach at Aurum Leadership International and at her private practice, Radiant Essence Services. She's also the Founder and Host of the Inspiring Women with Soul series, which has served over 130,000 women from more than 160 countries.

LINDSEY WISE

As a facilitator of ceremonial energy medicine, music, and plant medicine, Lindsey Wise’s work is to awaken humanity to the healing power of their unique sound. She has traveled the world and the astral realms, cultivating healing techniques to help people awaken to the power of their own voice and to the healer within. She blends ritual, breathwork, guided journeys, sound healing, yoga, and community song.

MOHAMMED ESSA

The driving force and philosophy of Mohamed Essa is to help people to get in touch with their true self through self-determined goals related to well-being and wellness and to spread awareness about better life choices on how to improve health conditions through conscious awakening and meditation. Mohamed Essa is the Founder of the Blue Lotus Wellbeing Foundation in Cairo, Egypt, a global foundation that specializes in the area of Mind, Body and Soul wellness. The foundation provides short and long-term therapy that emphasizes the integration of the emotional, mental, spiritual and physical aspects of each person. Blue Lotus also provides individual, couple and family therapy as well as other various custom coaching and detox programs.

MARZA MILLAR

Marza, BSN, MA, was raised in medicine traditions from birth, and is a multifaceted healer and educator. Drawing from her Ojibwe and Scottish heritage, as well as formal training in both allopathic and alternative medicine, she also possesses education in archaeology, anthropology, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Archaeoacoustics. Marza specializes as a medical intuitive, clinical herbalist, and Energy Medicine practitioner, along with teachings in ancient civilizations and prophecy. She combines her empathic and clairvoyant abilities to offer transformative education in prophecy, ancient civilizations, and energy medicine. She has a rich history of collaborating with indigenous elders worldwide, including the Hopi, Hawaiian, Inca, and various cultures from the Andes, Arctic Circle, to the Egyptian Temples.

Marza is recognized nationally and internationally for her healing and teaching in prophecy and medicine traditions. She is an educator in energy medicine and medicine ways with Damanhur in Italy. She owns Rebel Alchemy and Ancient Earth Apothecary and serves on the faculty of the Academy of Oracle Arts. Based in Nevada City, CA, Marza operates a private practice, holds the fireplace of the Star Clan Fire, and serves as the Directing Minister of the Church of the Essence.

MAHMOUD KHODEIR

Mahmoud Khodeir, an Egyptologist and naturalist guide, has degrees from Al Azher and Cairo Universities. Born in Memphis, Egypt, he has excelled as a tour guide since 1990, leading numerous American, British, and Dutch groups across Egypt. Mahmoud is a sought-after guest lecturer in the United States due to his deep knowledge of Egypt. His teaching style, humor, and passion for all things Egyptian make him a captivating presence.

Mahmoud has also made appearances on TV programs like the History Channel, guest lectured for the Egyptian Study Society (ESS) in Denver, and delivered lectures in various cities, including Minneapolis, Boston, Detroit, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Nassau.

TANOURA

Tanoura is a 16-piece local Sufi band. In Egypt, the practice of whirling has been adapted as tanoura. Tanoura is an Arabic word, which translates to skirt in English. It is a traditional folk dance in Egypt, where the dancer spins to the tunes of Arabic songs, sometimes religious ones, too, known as Tawasheeh (a mix of Quranic verses and classic poetry). The Tanoura is a unique dance that is often seen as philosophical or even religious, taking the dancer to new spiritual levels. Sufi whirling is a form of physically active meditation which originated among Sufis, and which is still practiced by the Sufi Dervishes of the Mevlevi order and other orders such as the Rifa’i-Marufi. It is a customary meditation practice performed within the Sema, or worship ceremony, through which dervishes aim to reach the source of all perfection. This is sought through abandoning one’s nafs, egos or personal desires, by listening to the music, focusing on God, and spinning one’s body in repetitive circles, which has been seen as a symbolic imitation of planets in the Solar System orbiting the sun.

LOCATION

The pre-pilgrimage retreat is open to a focused group of devoted participants and will take place at the Mena House, a five-star luxury hotel located at the base of the Great Pyramid, which has amazing views and makes for an unparalleled location for sound healing work. The resort is also located near the Sphinx, Cairo University, and the Egyptian Museum.

The investment for the Pre-Pilgrimage Retreat from September 22 - 25, 2024 is $2100 USD.

Your registration fee covers the retreat, 3 nights at the Mena house during the retreat, daily lunches, and coffee breaks. Your registration fee does not include travel, or breakfast and dinner.
